Regular City Council Meetings are scheduled for the 1st and 3rd Monday of each month at 5:00PM.
All meetings are held at South Beloit City Hall, 519 Blackhawk Blvd. in the City Council Chambers. The public is welcome to attend.

All special City Council Meetings, Council Committee Meetings, and Council Advisory Meetings will be held with at least a 48 hour notice.

Wednesday Walkabout @ Nature At The Confluence Campus

Hit the gravel-packed trails each week for the Wednesday Walkabout at the Confluence Campus, from 9am-11am. Come when you want, go as far as you like! Bring a friend, your kids, or your pup (on a leash). Stop in the Learning Center afterwards for free coffee, water and a “Confluence Critters” organic animal cracker snack.

  • Free and open to the public.
  • All ages welcome. Kids under 12 must be accompanied by an adult.
  • No registration needed.
  • The Learning Center is open 9am-11am each Wednesday.

If you walk all three loops of our gravel trails it equals 1/2 mile.

Summer Reading Club Week 1 @ South Beloit Library

It’s the first week of our summer reading club.  Stop in the library to sign up for reading fun and prizes.

Each week during the summer reading program at the library, a different STEAM project will be available.  These projects designed for elementary grade children will be related to a different travel destination.

During the first week, children can pick up and personalize an avatar.  They can name their avatar and prepare him/her for a summer of travel and reading fun.

The travel destination for the week is Asia.  The STEM challenge for children and their families will be to practice using chopsticks.  We’ll have chopsticks and objects for you to manipulate and create challenges of who can move the most objects.

Little Builders Club for 6 and under @ South Beloit Library

Little Builders Club is for those under 6 years of age.  It will be held the first Monday of each month at 6 pm. Builders will be using Duplo blocks and Mega block- style blocks for their constructions. This is a free-style play time.

Come design and decorate a Sharpie mug.  We’ll provide special long-lasting sharpies and one mug per participant.  Feel free to provide your own if you’d like to make more than one.  For students in grades 5-12.  Sign up is not required, but is appreciated as all supplies are provided while they last.

WHY: Over-the-counter medications and prescriptions can pollute our waters and be harmful to humans, fish, and other wildlife when disposed of improperly.

Please do not flush medications down the toilet or place in the trash.

Unused, unwanted, and expired medicines of all kinds, including controlled substances must be properly disposed of in an environmentally safe manner so as to prevent leaching into the groundwater.

Sci-Fi/Fantasy Book Club @ South Beloit Library

Dark Fantasy BackgroundAttention Sci-Fi / Fantasy Fans:  These will be held the second Saturday of each month, from 9 a.m. for youth  grades 9 through adults.

These will be held the second Saturday of each month  at our library for youth  grades 9 through adults.  Have fun talking about science fiction and fantasy topics in literature, media, gaming and the arts.  The club will select a book each month to read and then discuss the following month.  May 12th we will discuss the book Neuromancer by William Gibson.
